Central Scotland MSP Margaret Mitchell was delighted to meet with some of Hamilton College’s Modern Studies Advanced Higher pupils on Friday (7 Dec).
The pupils have all chosen their topics for their dissertations.
Margaret, who is also the Scottish Parliament’s Justice Committee Convenor, discussed various aspects of Scotland’s criminal justice system with the pupils.
This included covering issues such as the management of offenders and the challenges presented from the use of drugs in prison and tackling mental health in prisons.
The Advanced Higher pupils had well thought out questions and had obviously researched their dissertation topics thoroughly.
Commenting Central Scotland and Scottish Conservative MSP Margaret Mitchell, said:
“It was a pleasure to meet these Modern Studies pupils.
“Clearly they had all undertaken detailed research into their dissertations so it was good to be able to share some further insight.
“I am confident that the standard of the pupil’s dissertations will be exceptionally high and that Hamilton College will be exceedingly proud of them.
“I congratulate their teacher Mrs Blackstock and wish her Modern Studies pupils Alice, Antonia, and Bethan all the very best with their dissertations.”
