Margaret Mitchell, MSP for Central Scotland recently visited Tesco stores in Coatbridge and Uddingston to make a donation to their annual food collection.
Tesco’s ongoing partnership with the Trussell Trust and FareShare means that Tesco stores across Scotland have donated 450,000 meals to Scottish families since 2012.
Margaret Mitchell was pleased to meet with the Tesco staff and to discuss all the good work that the Food Collection does.
Commenting Central Scotland and Scottish Conservative MSP Margaret Mitchell, said:
“It was really worthwhile to visit Tesco in Coatbridge and Uddingston and to support its Christmas appeal for donations to their Food Collection.
“The efforts and collaboration with the Trussell Trust and FareShare has delivered invaluable outcomes.
“Since 2012, Tesco has helped to provide millions of meals across the UK.
“At Christmas time however it’s even more important to give the initiative a boost and help raise awareness about the special appeal for donations at this time of year.”
